revisions. Should a resume require a major

As long as you wish us to make

deadlines intervene that you

For years of experience and
several major positions, a two page resume
is realistic. Minimize
positions that date back more than 10 years. Usually,
employers are mainly
interested in recent experience, state-of-the-art skills
and experience.

capture an employer’s attention?
Be creative – by using action
words, highlighting duties and achievements,
paying attention to detail, such as dates, statistics with regard to
employment time frames.
What can
contribute to an attention getting resume?
Use bullets, headlines and
bold face to make information stand out.
Avoid hard to read script
fonts. Make it easy for the flow of words to
be easily understood.
What are unacceptable on my
resume?
There is no excuse for typos
and misspelling. That’s what spell check is for
on a computer. We have no
time to grade your paper on these points.
Should I include references?
Save them until requested.
You should definitely have them available at
the interview.

It is to sell yourself so that
a resume screener will conclude “this is one
person we must include in our
selection process.”
